My skin appearance has improved greatly. I was dry, splotchy, crape-y and looking older then my age. My skin now feels more resilient and looks like it did 20 years ago. The change is most notable on my arms where I have allot of sun exposure. I am a 57 year old woman and started to take Astaxanthin a month ago due to the fact that it passes the eye and brain barrier. I was not expecting it to improve my skin but it did.
I have been taking Astaxanthin for a few weeks now and already I have noticed a big difference in how I feel. I feel better, have more energy and the fact that it contains natural ingredients makes me feel even better. My knees were aching before and not they are fine, also had pain in one foot that I thought was the beginning of gout or arthritis and that disappeared also. I take 4 mg. tablets and take 3 per day. There is a history of eye problems in my family which I am trying to prevent.

Vitamin D News has been all over the internet with some information being misleading and untrue. Vitamin D is in the sun’s rays, most of the foods we eat and is used by the human body to perform a myriad of functions since the dawn of man. It is a fact that the body produces Vitamin D, but our chemically processed world makes it insufficient to work properly.
The Vitamin D News regarding toxicity are not accurately being portrayed in the media from the vitamin D news currently on national networks.
Firstly there are no studies to prove large doses of Vitamin D are harmful or a person living in a sunny tropical climate would be over dosing all day long which is preposterously inaccurate.
There are no cases have been reported of a person supplementing with Vitamin D and getting lots of sun has had any ill effects on human health.
You have to know who is reporting this news and most likely you will find it has the financial backing of a pharmaceutical company trying to knock the competition which is the vitamins industry. While pharmaceutical drugs are rampant on the market and untested, there are few warnings of overdosing on prescription drugs in the media.
Therefore take the new Vitamin D news with a grain of salt, and know that Vitamin D has been proven to prevent flus, colds, major diseases and is being studied for cancer prevention in the truest sense.
The Sun Supplies 10,000 Units of Vitamin D
With most people if you stay in the sun for 30 minutes with a full body exposure you can obtain 10,000 units. However people are now afraid of skin cancer (again this is a false sense of fear) that they will lather on skin lotions to limit the sun’s rays, thereby cutting off their Vitamin D.
If you are one of these people, your being managed by media hype through fear and incorrect information of yesterday’s vitamin D news. If you live in a northern climate with winter months from September to March with very little sunshine you are Vitamin D deficient and need to supplement your diet, that is the plain fact.
Low Levels of Vitamin D Associated with Major Diseases
Lower levels of Vitamin D are found in Diabetes patients, people with lung and breathing problems, Blood pressure imbalances, heart disease, cancer, and bone loss diseases. The real studies prove that increasing Vitamin D intake can prevent these diseases, prevent their progression and heal the illnesses.
Who is at Risk for Low Levels of Vitamin D
The facts are that the sun does not provide enough Vitamin D even if you live in the tropics and therefore supplements are needed to offset the loss. Some people with digestive disorders do not absorb Vitamin D properly, as well elderly folks cannot absorb Vitamin D efficiently. People that are obese cannot absorb Vitamin D for reasons not fully studied but they are at risk for lower Vitamin D levels also. Babies who cannot get human milk from their mother are not getting Vitamin D and some formulas do not contain enough for optimum health.
The Dangers of Low Level Vitamin D Intake Far Outweigh the Risks of Too Much Vitamin D
The dangers of taking too little Vitamin D far outweigh any assumed risks of taking too much, the body can rid itself of any substance and has an excellent elimination system to function in that respect.
Daily Doses of Vitamin D
The controversy started with the daily required amount found to be too little to be effective at 200 International Units per day. ( IU)
Daily Recommended Vitamin D Doses for a healthy adult is 1,000 I U’s per day.
Daily Recommended Vitamin D Doses for those with serious illness like cancer can go up to 5,000 I U per day or more depending on the doctor or Health Practitioner or Naturopathic doctor’s recommendation.
Studies from the US Department of Health and Human Services have shown low levels of Vitamin D causes rickets or bone diseases. Rickets was a bone disease of children where they become susceptible to fractures and deformed bone structure. See Medical News Today
The direct cause of rickets in children is lack of Vitamin D or not absorbing Vitamin D efficiently enough to provide good bone health in babies, infants, children and adults. This is why milk has always had Vitamin D added.
Vitamin D in Foods and Supplements
The same holds true for Calcium intake when the body is not absorbing the vitamins properly which causes bone and teeth to not form properly.
Poverty and malnutrition due to the stresses of a poor economy in the United States has many people at risk for developed difficulties due to a poor diet.

Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Vitamin E are the basics and a probiotic for proper digestion is mandatory today for adults, kids and older adults we all need supplements to stay healthy.
