Cooking with shrimp has always been one of my favorite recipes for a light meal with sides of vegetables or a salad. In this video the Jinja Restaurant prepares a delicious meal using tiger prawn shrimps available at most seafood markets.

Vitamin D News has been all over the internet with some information being misleading and untrue. Vitamin D is in the sun’s rays, most of the foods we eat and is used by the human body to perform a myriad of functions since the dawn of man. It is a fact that the body produces Vitamin D, but our chemically processed world makes it insufficient to work properly.
The Vitamin D News regarding toxicity are not accurately being portrayed in the media from the vitamin D news currently on national networks.
Firstly there are no studies to prove large doses of Vitamin D are harmful or a person living in a sunny tropical climate would be over dosing all day long which is preposterously inaccurate.

If you are one of these people, your being managed by media hype through fear and incorrect information of yesterday’s vitamin D news. If you live in a northern climate with winter months from September to March with very little sunshine you are Vitamin D deficient and need to supplement your diet, that is the plain fact.
Low Levels of Vitamin D Associated with Major Diseases
Lower levels of Vitamin D are found in Diabetes patients, people with lung and breathing problems, Blood pressure imbalances, heart disease, cancer, and bone loss diseases. The real studies prove that increasing Vitamin D intake can prevent these diseases, prevent their progression and heal the illnesses.
Who is at Risk for Low Levels of Vitamin D
The facts are that the sun does not provide enough Vitamin D even if you live in the tropics and therefore supplements are needed to offset the loss. Some people with digestive disorders do not absorb Vitamin D properly, as well elderly folks cannot absorb Vitamin D efficiently. People that are obese cannot absorb Vitamin D for reasons not fully studied but they are at risk for lower Vitamin D levels also. Babies who cannot get human milk from their mother are not getting Vitamin D and some formulas do not contain enough for optimum health.
The Dangers of Low Level Vitamin D Intake Far Outweigh the Risks of Too Much Vitamin D
The dangers of taking too little Vitamin D far outweigh any assumed risks of taking too much, the body can rid itself of any substance and has an excellent elimination system to function in that respect.

Daily Recommended Vitamin D Doses for a healthy adult is 1,000 I U’s per day.
Daily Recommended Vitamin D Doses for those with serious illness like cancer can go up to 5,000 I U per day or more depending on the doctor or Health Practitioner or Naturopathic doctor’s recommendation.
Studies from the US Department of Health and Human Services have shown low levels of Vitamin D causes rickets or bone diseases. Rickets was a bone disease of children where they become susceptible to fractures and deformed bone structure. See Medical News Today
The direct cause of rickets in children is lack of Vitamin D or not absorbing Vitamin D efficiently enough to provide good bone health in babies, infants, children and adults. This is why milk has always had Vitamin D added.

Most school lunches are filled with sugar, salt, fat and unhealthy additives but here are some quick and easy recipes to prepare your kids’ lunch box quick and easy with nutrition, vitamins and super healthy foods.
Simple 30 Minute Lunch Box Recipe
Pizza Rolls
A great recipe for lunch your kids will love and adding some nuts, or fruit will fill them up with great nutrition and energy.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
Pinch of salt
90 grams butter, cut into cubes
2/3 cup of milk
plain flour
1/4 cup pizza sauce
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
150 grams of ham chopped
1 can of pineapple pieces, drained
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 210 degrees and line a baking tray with not stick paper.
Sift flour into a large bowl and cut butter into the flour with a knife.
Mix until the dough starts to stick to itself, put on a floured surface.
Kneed the dough until smooth, then use a floured rolling pin to roll into a rectangle.
Spread the pizza sauce onto the dough, sprinkle cheese, ham, and pineapple.
On the long side start rolling up the dough into a log.
Brush the edges with some milk to help it stick.
Cut the log into 12 pieces equally.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven to cool. Will keep for 2 days when stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Bring to room temperature before serving.
This is a nutritious lunch served with a side salad, or apple juice, with some added dried nuts or fruits.
